In the research statistics for 2000-2010, eight of the ten fastest growing occupations are in the computer and technology fields. Desktop publishers are there at number 6 with a projected growth rate of 67% and 25,000 new jobs for Desktop Publishing specialists. Also, 27% growth in Graphic Design employment is expected. With an initiative to tap this market and offer a specialization, ICDT will be offering a Post Graduate Diploma in Graphic Designing and Corporate Communications.
Aimed at Graduates seeking a vocational course, this diploma will emphasize on practical exposure, so that from day one the student gets a first hand experience of the job. Experienced trainers and state of the art learning ambience will gear them for the bright future ahead. It is aimed at honing not only their designing skills, but also at improving their aptitude to inculcate expert communication proficiency through design. At present, the course will be offered to 60 students annually, after a selection process involving an entrance test and personal interview, to sort out the most promising. The aim is to create professionals who would fit into their jobs right from day one.
